One of the main points of 2002 Annual Meeting & Conference was that Christian Science is for everyone. This year the Annual Meeting is taking place in Berlin, Boston, and on the World Wide Web. And it's not in a church building but in a sports arena, built on what was no-man's-land between East and West Berlin, until the Berlin wall came down in 1989.
This year, the message and the ideas in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy are becoming more widely available to a broader section of the human family. I'm so grateful for this opening up, this tearing down of walls. In my opinion, these walls have kept Mary Baker Eddy an unknown or obscure figure for the vast majority of humanity for too long. That goes for her discovery, Christian Science, too.
Walls are coming down in science, in theology, and in medicine. There are signs that more and more people in leading and trend-setting positions are searching for spiritual answers to their questions—questions to which old ways of thinking had no satisfying answers.
