Keep right on dancing

From the July 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The capacity for joy is a vital part of life. Joy begets joy, and it deserves regular nourishment and exercise. Joy returns, and actually multiplies, every touch of nourishment given to it. It doesn't easily survive neglect, and in my life I have learned that there is no earthly or heavenly reason to neglect joy. If someone asks, I am sometimes prompted to say that joy is my middle name.

Let me tell you about it.

Dancing, with all of its grace, movement, rhythm, and spontaneity, has always been important to me—even as a little girl. It just was. I didn't especially think about where those dance qualities came from because they were just there. But they grew in significance and importance to me as life moved on.
