Letters & Conversations

LETTERS

From the August 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When I was a young boy there was a Christian Science practitioner whom I used to love chatting with. I always looked forward to such occasions with eager anticipation. I considered myself privileged to have the opportunity to speak with this very gentle, loving lady.

The practitioner's statements were always so easy for me to understand. She used practical examples from everyday life and her own experience to help explain specific points she was making. Her perceptive observations and reasoned explanations gave me much food for thought. After having a chat with her, I always went away feeling enlightened, encouraged, and truly inspired, and with plenty to think about and put into practice.

That practitioner is no longer with us, but the priceless lessons she shared with me are etched indelibly in my memory. Many of them have been put to beneficial use in diverse ways and situations over the intervening years.
