Discovering the Global Church community

From the April 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Beginning in June 2004, after Annual Meeting, The Mother Church is planning to add services in Spanish on Sundays and Wednesdays because of the significant Hispanic population in Boston. First Reader designate Lyle Young, of Ottawa, Canada, says that this is one of the many ways "to help discover the global church community for everyone. Church doesn't have geographical limits or physical boundaries. It's a concept, which Mrs. Eddy defines in part as 'the structure of Truth and Love.'
Science and Health, p. 583 . So Church exists already. We don't have to invent Church, but simply discover it, open our eyes to it. And everyone, no matter their race or religion, is part of it. It's universal. But it's also local, and there are many wonderful ways to respond effectively to the specific and different needs of the languages and cultures of a diverse planet."
