DEEP THINK

NOTHING LESS

THAN THIS SHARED EXPERIENCE AT THE HEART OF REVELATION ...

From the April 2005 issue of The Christian Science Journal

How will we today find within ourselves the fidelity, strength, and unity to fulfill Mary Baker Eddy's vast expectations for the Christian Science she discovered and the Church she founded?

HUMANITY'S BUILT-IN SPIRIT OF LOVE, when stirred, can accomplish tremendous things. That surely happened in the aftermath of both the recent tsunami and the attacks of September 11, 2001, when heroism and unselfed love quickly followed. Clergymen, politicians, firefighters, wives of fallen heroes, took note of "a spirit in man" Job 32:8. rising up and bringing astonishing achievements. Individuals changed profoundly, both within themselves and in their capacity to work together, which might have seemed extremely unlikely only days before. In effect, waves of unselfish love overcame waves of destruction. People were suddenly united in a common cause, in their innate desire to see others survive and thrive.
