A CURE FOR EVERY ILL

From the February 2006 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"With God all things are possible."  Matt 19:26. It's one of the most encouraging phrases in the Bible. When faced with a problem that seems difficult to cure, it's heartening to know that nothing can be too hard for God.

To cure is to restore health, soundness, or normality; to free from something harmful or objectionable; to remedy, correct. When something is considered incurable, it is presumed not likely to be changed or corrected. It's impossible, terminal, beyond hope, and beyond recall.

But who says something is incurable? It is not God who says it. Not the Christ, the healing activity of God. Nor is it man, the image and likeness of God, who makes such a statement.
