KIDS' PLACE

HOW GOOD PRAYER IS

From the April 2006 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I've learned in Sunday School that God doesn't make pain or sickness, and He's always protecting me and keeping me safe.

I AM TEN YEARS OLD and I live in Nairobi, Kenya. I am in the fifth grade at Kilimani Primary School, where my favorite subject is English. All of my classes are taught in English, except for Swahili class. I can actually speak three languages fluently—my native tongue of Kikuyu, Swahili, and English. After school, I like to play with my two cats, Rosie and Ruby. And I also enjoy drawing pictures from a Bible book that I have. I copy the pictures with pencil, and then I paint my drawings.

Learning about the stories in the Bible is my favorite part of Sunday School. For the past five years I have been going to the Christian Science Sunday School in Nairobi. My uncle Samuel takes my older sister, Mary, and me there each Sunday.
