SQUARE ONE

From the January 2007 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Searching for a compelling New Year's message? I am, too. But hold that thought...

Let me first say that, no, the Journal cover isn't playing tricks on your eyes: We've updated what the magazine industry calls the nameplate. We've reorganized the nameplate's elements (such as title and date) to make the cover more in harmony with the contemporary design inside the magazine. We've kept the elements clean and simple. Pure and balanced.

And you'll notice two other aspects of our nameplate that we hope you'll appreciate: first, a soulline —a quotation by Mary Baker Eddy, the Journal's second, a more prominent display of the Cross and Crown, the seal of Christian Science.
