ABOUT A YEAR AGO I had a healing experience that changed my beliefs concerning the crucifixion.
One evening, I was suddenly engulfed in extreme abdominal pain. Unable to hold a book, I asked my daughter to pray with me. I was so grateful for her calm response as she read aloud the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson and continued with the chapter on "Prayer" in Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. After about two hours my body was noticeably more relaxed, and I was able to sleep.
In the morning, though still in pain, I was grateful to be able to read on my own. While praying, I focused on Mrs. Eddy's definition of God as the "... all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; ..." (Science and Health, p. 587).
