If anyone doubts that the Church Mary Baker Eddy...

From the September 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If anyone doubts that the Church Mary Baker Eddy founded—The Church of Christ, Scientist—is alive and ON THE MOVE, he or she should read this issue!

No, you won’t read about church programs, administration, and fund-raising. You’ll read about how people live Church, and how Church comes alive through their thoughts and actions. These people—actually they’re you, our readers around the globe!—don’t just “go” to church, they let the spiritual substance of Church animate their lives with healing love. And they do it day, by day, by day.

You’ll meet some of the participants in the Boston “Church Alive Summit” in early June, as well as in the

Annual Meeting of The Mother Church that followed. Like Sandy Sandberg and Marian English, First and Second Readers of The Mother Church. And Susan Mack, who helped start a storefront inner city church in St. Louis. And Ute Keller, who tells how the church members in Bleckede, Germany, resolved to talk less about Christian Science and live it more.

If you want to really get the feel of the Annual Meeting on “Church Alive” and how church members around the world are living Church, you can turn to page 31 to actually view the whole 90-minute program by scanning the QR code with your smartphone!

And there’s much more healing content in this issue. Like Jeffrey Hildner’s interview with Judy Wolff on “Mortal, Human, Divine.” And “Original Sinlessness,” by John Minard on the third tenet of Christian Science. Also there are some wonderful contributions to the “Lives Inspired by Mary Baker Eddy’s Example” series.

Don’t be surprised if you feel more truly alive yourself after reading this issue on “Church Alive.” The same divine source that energizes our Church just has to reinvigorate our individual lives too!
