Church Alive

‘Pretty cool' class projects

From the September 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Every year, everyone in our Sunday School class makes a resolution. We each set a goal. When everyone completes their assignment, we do something fun together. My goal this year was to read Science and Health over seven weeks. I thought, Every Christian Scientist eventually has to read Science and Health cover to cover—so why not now? I thought if I read the book, I would understand it more and participate more in class.

So I read at least ten pages every day before I went to bed, because it’s my best reading time—I’m more focused then. And I split up the book into little chunks so it wouldn’t be overwhelming. It went really smoothly. I started with the chapter “Prayer” and ended with “Fruitage.” What astonished me most about that chapter was the quantity of people who were healed just from reading Science and Health.

When everyone completed their assignment, we had a little party at my teacher’s house.
