Mary Baker Eddy didn’t put much stock in words without deeds, so it’s no surprise that she put great value on reports of healing. A By-Law she included on page 47 of the Church Manual says: “Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, ‘who healeth all thy diseases.’ ”
In our cover article, “Weekly Proofs of Healing,” Karl (Sandy) Sandberg shares his joy and insights on testimonies and the By-Law governing them. From his perspective as First Reader of The Mother Church, he writes, “The proof afforded through Christian healing, that Christian Science is what has been claimed for it, is absolutely essential to verify the truth of what it teaches.”
