My journey back

From the February 2012 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wasn’t a Christian Scientist at the time, having left the Church 30 years earlier.

But I’d been aware of the website spirituality.com, though I’d never taken time to investigate and see all that the site has to offer. One day, however, during a casual glance, something caught my eye—the Sentinel audio chats. I saw that I could download those chats and listen to them on my MP3 player while I took my morning walks. What I heard on those chats began to move me in a way I hadn’t been moved in years.

I had never lost my faith, so I started praying to God to show me the way I should go. I’ll never forget the night I received my answer. It was August 2010. I had been praying and asking for direction for months, and was wondering if my answer would ever come. Fortunately, as Mary Baker Eddy wrote in Science and Health, “Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds” (p. 1).
