By the time Margarita Thatcher arrived in the United States at age 16 she had acquired impressive language skills. Born in Switzerland and raised primarily in Argentina, she spoke four languages fluently—French, German, Spanish, and English. Later on, she studied Portuguese at a Berlitz language school in the US.
