On Saturday, November 15, 2014, I attended the first roundtable of the day in New York City for church members interested in strengthening their practice of Christian Science. It was such an inspirational, uplifting morning! Before I attended the meeting, I wondered if it would be an informational lecture, a “Q and A,” or if we would be asked to take some kind of test or fill out questionnaires. So when it became a thoughtful exchange among the many interested church members in attendance, I was thrilled.
We sat in a large circle with a facilitator from The Mother Church, who introduced the meeting by reading some passages about healing from the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings. She reminded us, too, that as students and followers of Christian Science, we are already healers because we are praying to keep our thought upward, elevated, and spiritual. We are helping ourselves, those around us, and the world with our holy thoughts. Her comments set the tone for our sharing.
I felt so supported by others who helped me see the practical truth that we are the immortal, perfect, harmonious reflection of divine Love.
