Progress: evidence of God’s unfoldment

From the May 2015 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Does this sound familiar? An irritating thought or situation comes up in our lives, and we feel as if we can’t get past it. In fact it seems as if the problem, instead of God, is determining what we do and is standing in the way of the progress we hope for. When we find ourselves in such a situation, it’s important not to accept it.

Let’s say you were driving in a strange area and suddenly found yourself at the end of a dead-end road. You wouldn’t stay in your car and wait for better times. No, you would turn around and try another way. That “other way” might be via trial-and-error, human will—or through spiritual listening.

I’ve found the best way to get answers is prayer. It’s important to remember that receptivity to spiritual truth and listening for God’s guidance are the keys to seeing and knowing the reality of our being—and the right direction for our careers. I know from an experience I had some time ago.
