Full recovery after a fall

From the February 2018 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The spring before last, while dancing with my ballroom partner, I fell with all my weight on one hip. Immediately, I turned my thought to God, knowing that because I was truly His perfect spiritual likeness, I was all right and was in His loving care. Friends helped me to a nearby chair. I was not in pain while sitting still, but reaching down to get my purse on the floor beside my chair or moving from sitting to standing was very uncomfortable, and I was unable to put any weight on my leg to walk. I sat quietly, waiting to get a clear sense of what to do, while I mentally handed my case over to God.

The first direction I got from divine wisdom was to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. The practitioner immediately agreed to pray with me. The next idea was to call the Visiting Christian Science Nurse Service. I asked if a Christian Science nurse would bring me some crutches and meet me at home. I live on the second floor of a walk-up, but this idea felt completely right, and I was confident I could get into my home.

I told my friends that a Christian Science nurse was coming to help me, and they agreed to drive me home. They were very concerned about the stairs, but I was able to go up, using the railing on one side with a friend on the other. They helped me into my rolling desk chair, and one friend stayed with me.
