Head injury healed

From the April 2018 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I was badly hurt when I was hit by a forklift in an accident at the manufacturing plant where I work. Before I was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment, the on-site doctor examined me. At my request, she telephoned a Christian Science practitioner whose name and telephone number I kept in my wallet.

The doctor held the telephone to my ear, and I was comforted when I heard the practitioner calmly assure me that the power of divine Love and Christian Science could and would heal me. I learned later that the doctor spoke to the practitioner three times to emphasize that I’d suffered severe closed-head injuries and would most likely have irreversible brain damage.

There was considerable delay by the EMS staff getting me to a hospital, partly due to confusion about which hospital would have trained staff to treat the type of injuries I had incurred. Once at the hospital, I underwent extensive tests, which revealed that all the initial symptoms of injury had disappeared, including any sign of brain damage. All that remained was some bruising, but there was no pain. Within hours of the accident, I had been healed by God through prayer in Christian Science.
