Origin of communication
I wish to express my thanks for “All true communication begins with God” by Barbara Cook Spencer in the February 2018 Journal. The whole article was a perfect treatment and reminded me that “all true communication begins with God, not man.” Since this is the reality, misunderstandings can’t stand. I will be keeping this article close as I continue to pray for harmony to be seen and felt in the global community.

Like a cup of cold water
[Gay Bryant Flatt, “Church—a beacon of light,” Journal, January 2018]
What a wonderful, simple, and powerful hymn to church this article is. We in our part of the world, South Africa, have many challenges as regards to church and resistance to it. This article was like a cup of cold water.

Better understanding
[Edwina Aubin, “The power of the First Commandment,” Journal, January 2018]
This article gives me a better understanding of the First Commandment and how to apply it in Christian Science practice. No wonder Mary Baker Eddy says the First Commandment is her favorite text.

January issue so fortifying
The January Journal was so fortifying. I was able to sit down and read most of the magazine in one sitting, and a clear message stood out to me about understanding our spiritual identity. I just loved the way each of the testimonies reinforced this message in a different way. I felt so uplifted after reading it. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and attention to the whole composition of each issue of this magazine.

A timely article
[Cheryl Ranson, “Spirit-centered attention,” Journal, January 2018]
This is a wonderful article that addresses an extremely important topic today—that of what we give our attention to. The Bible quotes shared are so helpful in meeting the claim of attention deficit. I will read it several more times and also share it with others.

From storm to healing
[William E. Moody, “Refuge,” Journal, January 2018]
Wonderful poem! I love the way thought is led from the storm to the healing—such a blessed journey. Thanks to Mr. Moody for sharing this with us.
