For many years I lived with a growth on my back that, although not uncomfortable, caused me embarrassment when I wore summer clothes. I prayed, but I admit I wasn’t very diligent in my attempts to heal it. Then, two years ago, another growth appeared on my chest. Because it grew rapidly and was very painful, I couldn’t ignore it, and I knew I needed to address it immediately.
My mother, a Christian Scientist, relied entirely on prayer for healing. In adulthood, I chose the same spiritual healing method, as I found it to be effective and noninvasive, with the positive side effects of spiritual growth.
With great expectation, I began praying for myself daily and enlisted a Christian Science practitioner to help me. But when months passed and the condition worsened, I became discouraged.
