Is this a startling statement to you: “Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 424)? We’ve proven this in our family many times when the apparent effects of various mishaps have been reversed through prayer and by understanding the truth of this statement.
For example, two summers ago, I suffered a bad farm accident involving a horse. I was able to get home, but have little recollection of it.
Immediately, my first aid was to begin praying, focusing on God’s ever-presence and feeling the vastness of divine Love supporting me. I reached out to a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me. I could lie down, but attempting to stand and walk proved extremely painful.
