During difficult economic times, we can turn wholeheartedly to God. As the Bible promises, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (II Corinthians 9:8). The Bible also teaches us where to put our trust: “And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God” (II Corinthians 3:4, 5). And the Discoverer of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, explains how this works: “God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, p. 307).
During the summer of 2020, our family had wonderful proof of how God provides exactly what we need at the moment we need it. Our daughter was going to be a senior at a local university and needed a car to get to campus. We had been looking for a car but had not yet found one.
God brings together need and supply for the universal good.
