Many years ago, my family went on a lakeside camping trip with my sister-in-law and her two girls in northern Michigan. My two boys were around one and seven years old at the time, and we had brought our pontoon boat to enjoy by the water.
One morning I was headed down to the boat to get ready for fishing, but when I stepped on the square log in front of the boat, I found that it was wet from a heavy dew. My foot slipped and shot forward, slamming my lower leg into the front of the boat. When I recovered, I realized I had a deep puncture from hitting the only place on the front that could have caused that type of wound.
My first thought was how unfortunate that was, but I dismissed it quickly and prayed to know that there are no unfortunate circumstances in God’s perfect kingdom. I also knew accidents can’t be true because God doesn’t cause or know them. Divine Mind could never allow something unknown or accidental to happen, when He is good, knows all, and governs every action. We are not subject to random chance, when God guides and governs us continuously. I was grateful that I was not feeling a lot of pain and made my way back up to the campsite, praying along the way.
