Starting a Christian Science organization at my university

From the May 2025 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When I worked as an intern for The Mother Church in 2022, I was part of a team that reached out to students in Africa to encourage them to start Christian Science organizations (CSOs) in their schools. The aim of these organizations is to support spiritual growth, healings, and service to others and to foster a deeper understanding of what Christian Science is all about.

After I returned home to Nigeria from my internship, I decided to get involved in a CSO so I could be part of a community of young people who could explore Christian Science more deeply and share inspiration and testimonies of healing.

Because there was no CSO at the University of Calabar, where I was a student, I sat down one day at home to pray about this. The divinely inspired thought came to me to start one, even though it was my last year there and I was about to take my final exams. Then, almost all federal universities in the country, including mine, went on strike.
