Years ago, I started to understand that God is the source of everything good and meets our human needs. Small and then more challenging needs appeared in my life, but prayer helped me to experience the law of God’s harmony and supply as constant and invariable.
In applying Christian Science, I have found that I have to start with recognizing that a need is already being met, along the lines of these words from the Christian Science textbook: “Science reveals the possibility of achieving all good, and sets mortals at work to discover what God has already done” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 260).
Divine provision goes far beyond what human perception apprehends. Supply comes from a single source—our Father-Mother God, divine Love—and because we, as His ideas, reflect Him, everything meeting our needs is permanently inherent in us. It is important to evaluate our thoughts to understand what we are seeking. Are we seeking physical objects, or the understanding that our Father’s harmony and care are always present in our experience?
