When I went to a dentist for a routine cleaning and checkup, he informed me that I would need a root canal on one of my teeth. He gave me a copy of the X-ray of the tooth and referred me to another dentist who performed that type of work.
I kept putting it off, and eventually I lost the wallet where I kept the X-ray. When I finally called for an appointment to see a dentist that I had gone to previously, the receptionist reviewed my records and said rather curtly, “Of course you have problems, because you haven’t been here for over two years and you neglected to have the work done on that tooth that you were supposed to have.”
In the few days before the appointment, I prayed specifically about this. I saw my teeth as ideas of God that could never be neglected, decay, or die. I saw that God, Life, flows through His channels to every part of my being, and so no aspect of my being could ever be blocked from receiving the eternal freshness and newness that God is continuously supplying.
