From the Directors Interviewing Applicants for Church Membership Applicants for membership in a Christian Science branch church or society are responding to divine impulsion, to the call of the Christ. Committees charged with examining applicants in order to make sure they are prepared for this step should conduct all interviews in the loving and compassionate spirit of the Christ.

An Invitation to Join The Mother Church If you are a student of Christian Science but not yet a member of The Mother Church, you are warmly invited to apply for membership during the next admission period. The opportunity for membership comes twice each year—once in June (applications due by May 1) and once in November (applications due by October 1).

The 1967 Normal Class The Normal class of the Board of Education was held early in December. In compliance with the By-Law, Article XXX, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, this class convenes on the first Wednesday of December in each third year.

From the Directors Sunday services in a Christian Science church conclude with the pronouncement of the benediction. The benediction is an integral part of the church service, and it should therefore receive due respect.

"Workshop on Healing" Film Recording A 16mm film record of the "Workshop on Healing" held in The Mother Church on Wednesday morning, June 7, has been prepared for presentation at branches of The Mother Church and college organizations. The film, which was processed from the video tape recording made during the meeting, is available in English only.

From the Directors Members of The Mother Church who contemplate applying for a card in the list of practitioners in The Christian Science Journal and/or The Herald of Christian Science should write direct to the Manager of the Department of Branches and Practitioners for correct information. There is evidence that misinformation on this subject is circulating in the Field.

The Value of Obedience When a Christian Scientist becomes a member of The Mother Church, he signifies his willingness to obey the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy. In making this step, the way is opened for important spiritual growth.
