ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP IN THE MOTHER CHURCH Applications for admission to membership in The Mother Church may be sent to the Clerk at any time throughout the year. It is desirable that applications should be forwarded in ample time so that they may receive the essential preliminary attention before the date of election.

FROM THE DIRECTORS

It would be beneficial to branch churches as well as to The Mother Church if the custom, which was formerly followed, of joining both churches at the same time would now be revived. To bring this about, the branch church officials as well as the applicant should helpfully co-operate.

In order to uphold the prestige of The Christian Science Monitor and to correct the misapprehension that it is a free newspaper, an article on "Wiser Distribution of the Monitor" appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel for November 28,1931. Since the situation which inspired this article still exists in many sections, we are quoting the article in part in the hope that wiser distribution of the Monitor may result: "The distribution of The Christian Science Monitor through free literature boxes at railroad stations and other public places has led in many instances to the misapprehension that it is a free newspaper.

The work of the Christian Science Sunday School is of great importance because of its effect on the thought and character of those, the pupils, who, after leaving it, or even before, become members of the Church of Christ, Scientist. With this in view, it has been thought that teachers and pupils in our Sunday schools might be aided through the columns of the Sentinel to an extent greater than heretofore.

NOTICE

For several years The Christian Science Board of Directors has been endeavoring to complete for the archives of The Mother Church three sets of all the editions of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Many Christian Scientists have sent in for this purpose their old editions, but there are still some editions needed to complete these three sets.

FROM THE DIRECTORS

The King James Version continues to be the best-liked rendering of the Bible into English. This translation continues to hold first place among English-reading students by reason of its diction, its fidelity to the original text, and its spirituality.
