In the circular which The Christian Science Board of Lectureship sent out in June last, to branch churches and societies, it is indicated that Mr. Bicknell Young, C.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

Occasionally reports are received that in some communities in the Field, literature distribution boxes give the appearance of being neglected, by being allowed to remain empty over long periods, or by allowing the literature to remain in the boxes after it has become soiled and untidy. It is obvious that conditions of this sort should not prevail, even in a small way.

SEVEN NEW SOLO SETTINGS The Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy announce the publication of seven new solo settings for poems by Mrs. Eddy, which it is hoped will prove to be welcome additions to the music libraries of Christian Science churches and societies.

REPRINT FROM THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR OF MAY 11, 1937 John V. Dittemore, who passed on May 10, in New York City, was from 1909 until 1919 a member of The Christian Science Board of Directors.

FROM THE DIRECTORS

The Constitution of the United States having been drawn up by a convention of the original states in 1787, the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of this event is to be celebrated on Friday, September 17, 1937, as Constitution Day. As now planned by the United States Constitution Sesquicentennial Commission, September 17 will be made a national holiday by proclamations of the President of the United States and the governors of the several states.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

In 1930-1933, The Mother Church was invited to buy what was offered as proof that Mary Baker Eddy got some two hundred lines for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (which contains eighteen thousand lines) from an admirer of Hegel's philosophy. The alleged proof consisted of two handwritten papers: (1) a purported article or essay headed "The Metaphysical Religion of Hegel by Christian Herrmann"; (2) a purported letter dated April 21, 1866, addressed "Friend Hiram" and signed "Christian Herrmann.
