In 1930-1933, The Mother Church was invited to buy what was offered as proof that Mary Baker Eddy got some two hundred lines for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (which contains eighteen thousand lines) from an admirer of Hegel's philosophy. The alleged proof consisted of two handwritten papers: (1) a purported article or essay headed "The Metaphysical Religion of Hegel by Christian Herrmann"; (2) a purported letter dated April 21, 1866, addressed "Friend Hiram" and signed "Christian Herrmann.

Each year certain members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship retire that they may have time to devote particularly to the study and practice of Christian Science. The following are lecturers who have now served several years on the Board of Lectureship, and who will retire for the year beginning July 1, 1937.

Although Article VIII of the Church Manual is headed "Guidance of Members," the guidance in Section 1 is of equal benefit to all Christian Scientists. Thus, every Christian Scientist, whether now or not yet a member of The Mother Church, should "daily watch and pray to be delivered from.

In the spring of 1927 a bill, entitled the Nursing Homes Registration Act, was introduced into the British Parliament to regulate the conduct of the Nursing Homes in England and Wales. One of the provisions of this bill was that every Nursing Home must have a doctor or qualified medical nurse at its head.
A new edition of the circular of Instructions issued by the Clerk for filling out applications for membership in The Mother Church has been printed, which contains the following additional paragraph: "No one should approve for membership in The Mother Church an applicant who is a user of tobacco or alcohol. ".
