ANNOUNCEMENT

We are happy to announce to the Field of Christian Science that sufficient funds are in hand so that the Reconstruction and Furnishing Fund is now closed. The purposes for which the fund was established —the reconstruction of the former Publishing House for the Administration Building, furnishing it, and helping to furnish the new Publishing House, the rebuilding of the Church Park fronting the Church edifice, and other essential work—have been completed satisfactorily.

NOTICE [As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, March 28, 1936] In the course of applying its policies concerning foreign exchange and balance of trade, the German Government is limiting the importation of Christian Science literature. Even the quantity of our books and periodicals that can be sent to Germany as gifts is restricted.

ANNOUNCEMENT

With the consent of Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, we are happy to announce that excerpts from her letters are to be published regularly in the Christian Science periodicals. Brief gems of thought found in letters from the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science will begin to appear in the next issues of the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

The questions are sometimes asked regarding the list of subjects for the Lesson-Sermons in the  Christian Science Quarterly , Why did not Mrs. Eddy give a subject for each Sunday during the year, instead of for each Sunday in a six months' period? and, What do you do when there are fifty-three Sundays in a year? Answering the last question first, it can be said that when the year includes fifty-three Sundays, the Lesson-Sermon Committee repeats one of the subjects, often that of "Christian Science," for the additional Lesson-Sermon.
