ITEMS OF INTEREST

The questions are sometimes asked, Should duties and offices in a branch church be entrusted to those members only who have had class instruction in Christian Science? Need Sunday school teachers, without exception, be class-taught? May a pupil of the Sunday school who has reached the age of twenty be appointed a worker in the Sunday school, perhaps as secretary or a teacher? It is, of course, necessary that those who hold positions of trust shall have the status of experienced, working Christian Scientists who are demonstrating Mrs. Eddy's teachings.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

The questions are sometimes asked regarding the list of subjects for the Lesson-Sermons in the  Christian Science Quarterly , Why did not Mrs. Eddy give a subject for each Sunday during the year, instead of for each Sunday in a six months' period? and, What do you do when there are fifty-three Sundays in a year? Answering the last question first, it can be said that when the year includes fifty-three Sundays, the Lesson-Sermon Committee repeats one of the subjects, often that of "Christian Science," for the additional Lesson-Sermon.
