A LETTER TO THE DIRECTORS

Boston, Massachusetts, October 19, 1934 The Christian Science Board of Directors 107 Falmouth Street, Boston, Massachusetts Dear Friends: In humble gratitude to God and with deep appreciation of the wisdom and foresight of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, we, the Committees on Publication who are assembled in conference, thank you sincerely for the alertness and wisdom with which you conduct the affairs of the Christian Science movement. Your consecrated thought and your reliance upon God for strength and guidance are a constant inspiration to Christian Scientists to emulate the healing works of the Master.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

Occasionally an anonymous letter reaches the Directors of The Mother Church from a person who believes that the Board can remedy some situation the writer inadequately describes. If the writer is mistaken in his written conclusions, as is often the case, the Directors have no opportunity to write a helpful reply.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

The Literature Distribution Committee of The Mother Church, established to carry on distribution activities in its local district, is glad to cooperate with branch churches outside its immediate field by supplying them with surplus literature when this is possible. Christian Science churches, particularly those on the continent of Europe, have called upon the Distribution Committee of The Mother Church for literature for use on the occasion of their lectures, and when The Mother Church Committee has a surplus of reasonably current literature it is glad to send it for this purpose.

Notices

ITEMS OF INTEREST [As published in the Christian Science Sentinel , May 12, 1934] A correspondent writes to The Christian Science Board of Directors of her gratitude for the statement published by them in the March 24, 1934, issue of the Christian Science Sentinel , but she asks the question, "How can those who are not subscribers to the Sentinel know of the Directors' message?" She adds, surprisingly, that she knows of active workers in her local branch church who have, inadvertently perhaps, let their subscriptions lapse. This correspondent has raised an important question.
