The following members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship will reserve the lecture year beginning July 1, 1934, and extending to June 30, 1935, inclusive, from service on the Board of Lectureship. They will not, therefore, be available for calls for lectures during the specified year.
Sometimes the question is asked, "Why does one who firmly believes in Christian Science defer uniting with The Mother Church and a Christian Science branch church or society in his community?" The replies vary. One person feels that he has not yet progressed sufficiently in understanding and applying the teachings.
THE Field will be interested to know that the completion of the interior of the new Publishing House is proceeding satisfactorily and as rapidly as is consistent with acceptable workmanship and desirable results. It is confidently expected that, with the exception of the globe room, all of the interior work will be finished not later than June 1.
Applications for admission to membership in The Mother Church may be sent to the Clerk at any time throughout the year. It is desirable that applications should be forwarded in ample time so that they may receive the essential preliminary attention before the date of election.
Heartfelt appreciation for the Christian Science literature, which Mrs. Eddy provided for her followers, is expressed in the following experience: A Christian Science practitioner, who for the past few years has experienced much lack in spite of her most earnest and devoted efforts, found it necessary to remove the practitioner's card which she had maintained for some years in The Christian Science Journal directory.

THE Directors of The Mother Church have recently received inquiries from several sources as to the permissibility of class-taught pupils attending one or more association meetings annually, if invited to do so. The Directors, therefore, call attention to a communication from them published in the Christian Science Sentinel of April 22, 1922, from which the following is quoted: "The privilege which the Manual extends to teachers, of inviting students of other teachers into their association meetings, has been conservatively exercised with good results.
ITEM OF INTEREST [As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, October 28, 1933] Each year in certain universities and colleges in the United States and England, groups of Christian Scientists come together with the opening of the college sessions in the fall and arrange for their work of the year. It may be that some of their most dependable members of the preceding year are no longer with them, having gone out from the university as alumni, and, although still retaining connection with the organization, are nevertheless separated from the regular functions.
