October 19, 1933 The Christian Science Board of Directors 107 Falmouth Street, Boston, Massachusetts Dear Friends: In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 35 ) Mary Baker Eddy states, "Our church is built on the divine Principle, Love.
Since "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy* has been selected by the National Council of Women as one of the one hundred best books of the century, and one of the three books on religion in this list, additional interest has been attracted to this book which has comforted, healed, and blessed many thousands during its almost sixty years of circulation.
The Christian Science Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church on June S made the following statement regarding the new Publishing House: "Primarily, of course, the new building is intended to provide adequate facilities for the publishing of our religious periodicals, our daily newspaper, and the writings of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. But it does something more, much more in fact, than simply meet a physical need, great and pressing as that need may be.
Applications for admission to membership in The Mother Church may be sent to the Clerk at any time throughout the year. It is desirable that applications should be forwarded in ample time so that they may receive the essential preliminary attention before the date of election.

From the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, Article VIII, Section 14 "It shall be the privilege and duty of every member, who can afford it, to subscribe for the periodicals which are the organs of this Church; .
Articles, Poems, and Testimonies The Christian Science Publishing Society accepts religious articles and religious poems only from members of The Mother Church Religious articles intended for the Journal, Sentinel, or Monitor should be sent to the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department, One, Norway Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Preferably, contributors should correspond for themselves.
A question which is occupying the thought of Christian Science churches in some of the larger cities today deals with the maintenance and the extent of the usefulness and activities of the Reading Rooms which they jointly operate. That Reading Rooms adequately located and properly equipped are important is indicated by the By-Law, Article XXI, Section 1, of The Mother Church Manual.
