Perhaps the most remarkable and provocative aspect of all human history, culture, and advancement centers in and around the Holy Bible. No document, no book, no single or combined human effort has had the effect or purpose in human affairs that the Bible has exercised through the centuries.

Some years ago I knew an attorney who had an extensive law library. One day I queried, "Why do you need this huge law library?" He replied: "In the work I'm doing for this office and other law firms, I need to know many legal opinions and decisions.

The teachings of Christian Science are revolutionizing and spiritualizing the thought of many people throughout the world. These teachings are bringing to human consciousness the recognition of the mental nature of everything of which we take cognizance—the spiritually mental nature of all that expresses God, good, and the erroneously mental nature of all that claims to be an opposite of God and of His law of infinite good.

From the moment of his arrival, the visitor who has called to seek information from the Archives of The Mother Church begins to sense that something vital is going on there. And if he has believed the Archives to be a dead end for treasured historical documents, or that it is a closed door to the inquirer in genuine need of information, his misconceptions are quickly put to rest by the enthusiasm and scope of activity of the Archives staff.

In the Explanatory Note in the Christian Science Quarterly , which is read during the Sunday services in every Christian Science church, is this statement: "The Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers. " Pref.

Many of us in our first exuberant joy on coming into Christian Science have commendably desired to share its glorious truths with others, but because of a zeal "not according to knowledge," Rom. 10:2;  we have in the process suffered some unfavorable reaction and possibly a temporary loss of our own spiritual uplift and joy.

Traveling can be a happy and inspiring experience to one who has learned to cherish harmonious thinking and to understand the safety of God's beloved child. Business trips can be transformed from the routine and repetitive into happy and interesting experiences, and a journey, whatever its purpose, need never be looked upon as hazardous or dull when one approaches it from the correct standpoint.

As one crosses the Golden Gate bridge approaching San Francisco, the beauty of the skyline with its hills topped by towers of steel and stone lies ahead. The broad Pacific to the right and the bay to the left, plied by great steamers from the ports of the world as well as by ships of the United States Navy and a multitude of fishing and pleasure craft entering and leaving the harbor, distracts one constantly.

Christian Science reveals God as the omniactive and omnipresent divine Mind and man, God's image and likeness, as the perfect, active idea emanating from this Mind. In this Science we learn that man's true action is the individualized expression of God's action, just as man's life is the individualized expression of Life, which is God.
