Sincere students of Christian Science seek to gain a clear view of the meaning of the birth of Christ Jesus and the impact of his birth upon past ages as well as upon the present. This holy birth in Bethlehem long ago was a quiet event.
Knowing the spiritual truths of God and of man's relationship to Him as His perfect reflection opens one's thought to the Father's loving care. The spiritual faculty of knowing transcends mere human optimism or hope; it is spiritual understanding, and it begins to develop in one's experience with the acceptance of Truth.
In the Bible we read: "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing.
What does Christmas mean to us? Is it full of the freshness, thoughtfulness, and joy of a glorious season? Or has it lost its beauty, shining wonder, and its sublimity? Has the sense of commercialism and concern over persons and things dimmed the Christ in Christmas? If so, it is time that we exchanged the baubles and tinsel of material sense for the clear, shining awareness of Christ, Truth. Mrs.

Closely associated with "the days when the judges ruled" ( Ruth 1:1 ) in Israel is the vivid account recorded in the book of Ruth, in which the leading characters are Ruth herself and her mother-in-law, Naomi. Although Naomi and her husband, Elimelech, came originally from Bethlehem in Judah, they and their two sons, Mahlon and Chilion, had settled in Moab to the east of the Dead Sea, and the two young men had married Moabite wives, named Ruth and Orpah respectively.
Honesty, or integrity of thought, Is necessary to the successful development of discoveries in any field. Static, hidebound thinking, loath to admit its unwillingness to advance when a new idea demands acceptance and active use, wraps itself in many reasons for preserving the status quo and refuses to respond to the beckoning finger of progress.
