GOD and man in His image and likeness are eternally at one, coexistent, inseparable, yet distinct as Father-Mother and child, Mind and idea, cause and effect. Their individuality and function are eternally distinct; therefore man never loses his identity, his immortal individuality.
THE prophet Ezekiel gives us in Chapter 47 a vivid account of his vision of the holy waters. He describes how his angel guide led him through waters that came first to the ankles, then to the knees.
IN the first epistle of John, the beloved disciple said ( 1:5 ), "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. " This utterance clearly bears the impress of Christ Jesus' influence on John's thoughts.
ON page 1 of "Rudimental Divine Science" by Mary Baker Eddy is found this question, " How would you define Christian Science? " And it is answered thus: "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony. " What a glorious awakening comes to the Christian Scientist when he learns that there is only one law, the law of God, Truth, Life, and Love! God's law is always operating right where error seems to be.
IF the Christian of today turns to the Bible for comfort and healing, he will find in it a good many accounts of what are generally called miracles. He may think with regret that these miracles were possible only in the past; he may even believe that the power to perform miracles was a supernatural gift of grace bestowed on exceptional individuals.
HOW important it is that each individual understand and demonstrate constantly the nature, presence, power, and love of God! Indeed, this is the mark of the genuine Christian Scientist. It is for this reason that he studies each day his textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
THAT one must be born anew before he can appreciate the true idea of Church is self-evident. Christ Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again before he could see the kingdom of God.
UNDERLYING every Christian Science healing is the fact of God's allness and of man's spiritual sonship as His perfect image and likeness. Divine sonship is the precious heritage of man, maintaining him thoughout eternity as God created him, good and blessed of his Father.
ANYONE thinking of employment does well to consider the statement made by Mary Baker Eddy in "Miscellaneous Writings" ( p. 118 ), "Be of good cheer; the warfare with one's self is grand; it gives one plenty of employment, and the divine Principle worketh with you,―and obedience crowns persistent effort with everlasting victory.
