ON page 1 of "Rudimental Divine Science" by Mary Baker Eddy is found this question, "How would you define Christian Science?" And it is answered thus: "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." What a glorious awakening comes to the Christian Scientist when he learns that there is only one law, the law of God, Truth, Life, and Love!
God's law is always operating right where error seems to be. This fact is manifested in human experience whenever good appears, whether it be in demonstration of freedom from sin, sickness, or any other falsity of mortal mind. We carry in thought the law of mathematics wherever we go, and we also have God's unlimited law of good with us at all times.
Ignorance or rejection of the law of God, good, and the belief in the reality of evil make evil and human difficulties appear to be true. When, ignorantly or willfully, we accept erroneous beliefs as real, we may find ourselves controlled by the limited misnamed laws of the carnal mind. The law of God, through the study and application of Christian Science, destroys the effects of such false laws and exposes mortal mind's suggestions as having not one iota of truth.
