Through the understanding of Christian Science one often gains new light on a familiar and loved Bible story enabling him to solve some present-day problem. Recently the writer found fresh inspiration while pondering Jesus' parable of the woman who lost one of her ten pieces of silver in her house, as recorded in the Gospel of Luke (15:8, 9).
When we start out on a journey, we usually do so with the expectation of going all the way. Nevertheless, in human experience, obstacles, diversions, unforeseen circumstances, lack of determination, may prevent us from reaching our destination.
Obedience is recognized as an essential factor in promoting harmony and maintaining law and order in society. We are aware of the necessity for willing submission to authority and have witnessed the effects of obedience in our homes, in schools, in business, and in the armed forces.

Peace is a positive quality of the real man's being; it is an essential element of that kingdom of heaven which is within man, and as such it is perpetual and permanent. Yet peace seems to escape humanity and to hover as a beautiful mirage that is intangible.
Mary Baker Eddy has given to the world the complete and final revelation of man in his true being, as the son of God. In her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which is based solely upon the Bible, man is revealed as the image and likeness of God, wholly spiritual, forever perfect, sustained and eternally governed by Him.
The mythology of ancient Rome and Greece seems far removed from the religion of enlightened people of today, but are we sure that it is entirely foreign to our accepted modes of thinking? Mythology identified concepts and qualities as men-made gods which were supposed to embody or control human experience; and men were thought to be influenced by these gods, which they had created in their own thought and then feared or revered. We may well ask ourselves if we are attributing power or reality to false concepts of God and of His manifestation, man.
Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Rudimental Divine Science" ( p. 9 ), "The spiritual power of a scientific, right thought, without a direct effort, an audible or even a mental argument, has oftentimes healed inveterate diseases.
" This is the happiest day of m whole life. " Surprised to find that this statement was being addressed to her, a businesswoman who was hurrying along a crowded city street, on her way home after a very full day at the office, turned and looked down into the radiant face of a child of about eight years.
