St. John , who was a close follower of the Master and is known as the beloved disciple, stated plainly, "God is love" ( I John 4:16 ).

As we study the Bible we cannot fail to be impressed by the frequency with which "the law" is mentioned as associated with God. In the early history of Israel some Soul-inspired prophets in moments of spiritual perception grasped the fact that real law is a divine concept of perfection, governing and sustaining man, and they proved their understanding of and obedience to it by the performance of marvelous demonstrations of the power of Spirit to heal human conditions of lack, disease, and death.
At a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, a testifier was heard to say, "If God has not spoken, nothing has been said. " One listener pondered these words and realized how true it is that the truths of God and His spiritual creation, spoken either audibly or mentally, render anything else of no account.
Christ Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead. To accept the New Testament as evidence of the existence of Jesus but to deny the evidence of his works is contrary to logic and reason.
