Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

PRIVILEGES OF BRANCH CHURCH MEMBERS

To spread abroad the gospel of the healing and redeeming Christ, Truth, is the mission of the branches of The Mother Church. To be a member of such a branch of the vine and to work and pray for its progress and loyalty to Truth, are priceless privileges.

WE NEED NOT JUSTIFY SELF

When Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate, the governor, for sentence, his plight indeed seemed to be a desperate and unenviable one. Since he had already been examined and condemned by Caiaphas, the high priest, and the elders, it would have seemed that only by a very forceful and convincing defense could Jesus hope to save himself.

THE DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTIC OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

In a recent dream, houses, trees, and people were exceptionally vivid, and curiously enough the dreamer while still in the dream debated whether or not the experiences were real, and decided that they were! Yet where were these objects and experiences when the awakening came? They were, of course, instantly recognized as dream concepts. Is there any likelihood that a mental awakening of men can and will disclose that present human experiences are dreamlike and therefore not the stuff of which absolute reality is made? USING THE SCIENCE OF CHRIST

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy has defined Christ as follows ( p. 583 ): "The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error.

HIGHER EDUCATION FOR PEACE

You will recall from reading your "Alice in Wonderland" that the Mock Turtle, in describing his education to Alice, speaks of it in this way: "Reeling and Writhing, of course, to begin with, and then the different branches of Arithmetic—Ambition, Distraction, Uglification, and Derision. " One could look upon this as pure nonsense.

"OUR ONLY PREACHERS"

" The Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers. " (Explanatory Note, by Mary Baker Eddy, Christian Science Quarterly.

A NEW FRONTIER

The early history of the United States is highlighted by accounts of the transformation of the wilderness into a place suitable for the expanding needs of the early settlers. It is sometimes argued that the lack of new frontiers to settle and develop has brought America to a declining economy, that is, to a restricted outlook economically.

"THE GREAT QUESTION"

Under the marginal heading "The great question" our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( pp. 307, 308 ): "Above error's awful din.
