From the beginning of history men have striven to attain their highest concept of a more abundant life. Beholding the present world debacle and seeing the futility of their attempt to realize security and satisfaction in material things or ways, many are now searching for such values as will confidently lead to a more stable sense of abundance, security, and peace.
In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes ( p. 124 ): "Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind.
The demand of today is the demand of Truth as voiced to Joshua: "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. " It is the call of spiritual alertness, the calm, undaunted mindfulness of God's omnipresence, a marshaling of the fundamental and invincible resources of thought and character that acknowledge man and the universe as existing in unassailed freedom and peace to express and glorify God.
God , good, is All. There is no error or evil in real being.

Today , when so many of mankind's fondest hopes have been upset, when the human economy has been so widely disturbed, and many people have to do work they never imagined they would ever have to do, it is well for those who seek peace, refreshment, and their true individuality, to consider what is the nature of the real man, where is his dwelling place, and what governs him. If one turns to the first chapter of Genesis, it is learned that God made man in His image and likeness, and that all creation in its completeness was very good.
The probability that we as a nation may be called upon to walk more than is usual, for some time to come, need give rise to no misgivings. Rather it may be the means of opening to us hitherto unexplored occasions for thought leading to unexpected treasures.
Christianly scientific thinking today imparts, silently and compellingly, the perennial assurance of Christly compassion. With particularly gentle persuasiveness it comes to heal the one tormented by the physical and moral accusations of personal sense.
Mary Baker Eddy has often used the term "Christian Science Mind-healing" to designate the system which she discovered and founded. This term implies that the Principle of Christian Science, the basis of its healing, is Mind—the divine Mind, the one infinite Spirit called God.
