Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

THE HYMNAL OF THE JEWISH CHURCH

The book of Psalms, consisting as it does of one hundred and fifty songs used in the homes of the Hebrews and in their places of worship, may justly be described as "The Hymnal of the Jewish Church," especially since the Hebrew name of the book is tehillim — "hymns. " The book itself and other early records inform us as to certain special occasions on which particular Psalms were used.

CONTINUOUS RESURRECTION

Students of Christian Science, trusting Love's healing touch to free them from bondage to materiality, find the true sense of resurrection in the proportion that human belief in and reliance upon material ways and means yield to the understanding of good alone as real. On page 593 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, defines "resurrection" as "spiritualization of thought; a new and higher idea of immortality, or spiritual existence; material belief yielding to spiritual understanding.

SUPPLY

In the estimation of the majority, supply seldom involves considerations other than of money and material possessions. To be well supplied, they think, is to own property, securities, a bank account; to be endowed with income, dividends, interest.

MAN REFLECTS THE DIVINE NATURE

A child who had been reared in the comforting teaching of Christian Science became very ill. A practitioner was called to help, but the little one did not respond to treatment at once.

CONFIDENT TRANQUILLITY

At a time when the people were turning away from God and seeking help from Egypt, the prophet Isaiah voiced the promise, "Thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. " These words have brought comfort and courage to many a troubled heart throughout the centuries since they were spoken to the children of Israel, for to turn to God in time of seeming bewilderment and trouble is the only definite way whereby to find release.

DIVINE VERSUS MATERIAL CLAIMS

The term "false claim" is commonly used among Christian Scientists. We often hear it said that someone has overcome the false claim from which he had been suffering.

"THE WISDOM THAT IS FROM ABOVE"

The teachings of Christian Science are definite and final on the subject of Mind. God is Mind.

OUR LODESTAR

A writer living in the tropics of Africa has spoken of the peculiar beauty of the African nights. In Africa, she says, the night, lit by burning stars or tropic moon, is the time for traveling; so one becomes familiar with the constellations and their places in the heavens and with the beauty of the lunar or stellar scene.

SINLESS MAN

There is scarcely a question which is more frequently asked of Christian Scientists than the one, How can man sin, if God has created him perfect? The answer is that the real man cannot sin. But to understand this, one must understand who and what man really is.

THE GIFT OF SERVICE

The desire to be of service for the good of mankind is deeply embedded in the human heart. To the extent that this desire is motivated by love for God and for mankind it is true prayer.
