Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

METAPHYSICAL HEALING

IN Christian Science, metaphysical healing stands for that divine order of spiritual law indicated by the healings recorded in the Bible, both before and after the Christian era began. The healing of the Shunammite woman's son, the recovering of Naaman "of his leprosy," the experience of the man lame from birth who was healed at the gate Beautiful, and of the father of Publius, governor of Melita, whom Paul healed "of a fever and of a bloody flux"—all alike prove the existence of a spiritual law that heals the sick.

FRIENDS

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE teaches, and proves by demonstration, that the beneficent laws of Life, Truth, and Love are over all things. In perfect consonance with Scripture it maintains unequivocally that "God is love," and that, being infinitely good, God knows no evil, but governs man and the universe eternally by the invariable laws of divine Love, which, obeyed, result in harmony and friendship.

THE REAL STATE OF THINGS

SINCE Mary Baker Eddy revealed to the world through her published works on Christian Science the actual relationship which has always existed between God and His creation, including man, there has been a wonderful awakening on the part of mankind to the truth of man's inalienable right to harmony. Reading the Bible in the new light which Christian Science throws on it, we find glorious glimpses of the love and compassion of our infinite Father-Mother God, and awaken to know a better world.

RIGHT THINKING

IN searching recently to get a clearer sense of minding one's own business and a larger, truer understanding of God as Love, great light and peace and courage came to the writer; and a desire to share the bounty prompts the telling. As thought was lifted to God, the one source, infinite and eternal, of right thinking, in honest prayer for growth in grace, for the graciousness to apprehend and comprehend good, the vital truth contained in Mrs.

HUMILITY

HUMILITY is a word which has been so commonly misinterpreted by usage that a consideration of its true meaning is always helpful. Humility has too often been associated with weakness.

VISION AND EFFECT

SURELY Ezekiel foresaw the coming of the practical, demonstrable Science of Truth when he said: "Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth? Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord God; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision. " Mrs.

A STRONGER FAITH

IN our work as students and practitioners of Christian Science we are many times confronted with problems that seem so difficult to handle and so slow in yielding that we wonderingly ask ourselves whether our understanding of Truth is going to fail us. Many times before, our understanding has helped us to overcome belief in a power apart from God, whether the claim was one of sin or sickness, of lack or suffering in any form; but this particular case seems to baffle all our efforts.

ABRAHAM AND HIS SEED

IN the earlier chapters of Genesis our attention is attracted to Abram when he is told, "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee. " In those days families lived together, perhaps occupying large areas and tending their flocks side by side.

MAN AND HIS DWELLING PLACE

INDISSOLUBLY connected with the thought of man is the idea of dwelling place; for the very fact that man is, establishes the additional one that man must be somewhere. Therefore, what can be more important than to know where man truly abides? To material sense, and in accordance with the customary thinking of mortals, man would seem to be material, dwelling in a house of wood, stone, or brick, in a material universe.

DETERMINATION AND SUCCESS

MUCH has been written and said in recent years concerning determination with respect to civil government. Self-determination, as an inalienable right of the people in regard to methods and means of government, is being much considered as the effect of an inevitable trend toward democracy.
