Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

EQUALITY

IN the twentieth chapter of Matthew Jesus recites a parable which would seem to be intended to convey the idea of equality as held by the Father toward all. Jesus likens the kingdom of heaven to a householder who went out early in the day to hire laborers for his vineyard.

RESCUED!

THE name Moses means, according to one authority: "Drawing out (of the water); i. e.

THE TRUE CHRISTMAS

THE world at this time is thinking of Christmas; but largely along material lines. To the Christian Scientist, through his study of the Bible and of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, Christmas is revealed in its real meaning, not merely as a season or time of the year, but as a season of the heart, which may be lived continuously.

THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

TO survive, according to the dictionary, is to outlive, to remain alive. Then only that which is immortal and spiritual can possibly survive; for material life, so called, has no eternal quality, and nothing material has permanence or power.

TRUE LIFE

WHERE there is implanted in human consciousness a desire to know the truth of being and to live in accordance with it, the right understanding of Life is essential. Jesus declared, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

THE SANCTUARY

" This understanding of God had to be expressed to the people in a way which they could understand; and we read in Exodus that God said, "Let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

"ON EARTH PEACE, GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN"

AT this Christmas season our thoughts turn with special loving gratitude to the story, familiar to us from childhood, of the birth of the child Jesus. We recall each incident of that first Christmas night: the watchful shepherds tending their flocks on the lonely hills of Judea, probably thinking of and praying for the advent of the promised Messiah, when upon their startled gaze dawned the angelic vision with its glorious message of "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men;" the dimly lighted stable with its lowly manger; the young mother whose pure spiritual concept of God as the only creator had enabled her to bring forth her child, the beloved babe, who, as Mary Baker Eddy so beautifully expresses it in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p.

It is quite a mistake to fancy that religion belongs only to the highest, and what are called duties of life. While she rises to the highest, she also stoops to the meanest occupations.
