The ministry in prisons is not an independent activity but is under the aegis of branch churches. When kept in perspective so as not to detract from any other church activities, this work uplifts both institutional workers and those being ministered to; and it extends the healing power of churches.

The following account is from a worker in Massachusetts. Recently I laughed at a mistake I had made in a letter.

A church in California submits the following: Our community is nestled on hills that spill down into the sea. Houses climb the hillsides and snuggle in the canyons.

There is hardly anyone who has not suffered from envying or being envied. The occasions for envy, jealousy, hate, seem manifold.

What a privilege it is to give a testimony in a Church of Christ, Scientist! You have experienced God's great love, and have seen that you are His child, created spiritually perfect. You have been healed.

Sometimes members question their ability to resolve the organizational challenges of their church. Yet anyone who has corrected a discordant condition in his physical body knows enough to help heal organizational bodies.

In actuality, all the good that is going on is God's doing, and He is the great doer of all that's really being done. Consequently, God's ever-present power of goodness, by its very nature, must be a healing force, a benevolent law of health, an inevitable destruction to illness of any kind.
