When I received the letter announcing that I had been accepted as a member of The Mother Church, a feeling of deep joy permeated my thought—a joy such as I had never felt before. But the moment arrived when I had to delve deeper into the significance of this link with The Mother Church, this unity, and the spiritual duties that I had accepted.

Supporting the lecturer's commission

In a letter to The Christian Science Board of Lectureship Mrs. Eddy speaks of its members in these terms: "Spiritual heroes and prophets are they whose new-old birthright is to put an end to falsities in a wise way and to proclaim Truth so winningly that an honest, fervid affection for the race is found adequate for the emancipation of the race.

The law of Life in action

"God is my life!" The recognition of this fact should be made daily, even hourly, not just in those moments of extreme stress or fear. This acknowledgment is a surrender to the all-encompassing law of Life, God, that protects and saves man.

What can you do for youth?

Do we realize what a privilege it is to teach young people the truth that frees? We obey the commandment "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" Ex. 20:8.

Healing the unhealed

Again and again prayerful reliance on God in the light of the teachings of Christian Science has brought healing quickly and permanently. Sometimes, however, a devoted follower of Christ Jesus' teachings may struggle for months seeking healing for a particular problem that has not yielded to prayer.

For many students of Christian Science, it may be a dramatic experience the first time they recognize their responsibility to be willing to practice Christian Science healing for others. Whether sparked by someone's request, or simply by our own widening apprehension, we see that, as Christ Jesus' followers, we are in a sense already in the healing practice, in accord with the Master's standard, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do.
