Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

Denouncing modern hypnotism

An object going back and forth, back and forth, in front of someone’s face—that’s how I imagined hypnotism as a child when it would come up in the Christian Science Bible Lesson. The Lesson titled “Ancient and Modern Necromancy, alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism, Denounced” sometimes mentioned Mesmer, a man who lived in the 1700s and early 1800s.

“All figures are drawn on infinity”

How are we thinking about supply? In a seemingly limited world, is it possible for supply to be limitless?

Church: A beacon for the ages

It might seem surprising that, after she discovered Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy did not move immediately to establish her church. Actually, she hoped none would be needed.

God’s law brought justice

The first time I came face to face with resistance to equal opportunities for women was in 1966. I was managing a fast-food franchise and found it difficult to attract qualified men to work in the restaurant during the daytime hours.

Disciples at the plate

Editor’s note: Like a pair of old friends playing catch in the backyard, Nash and Pete shared spiritual ideas with each other as the 2019 Major League Baseball World Series games progressed. At some point, they both agreed that their conversation could bless others and not just apply to avid baseball fans.

Reading Rooms and the activity of Christ, Truth

I’ve always appreciated opportunities to share Christian Science with the public. And while serving in my local Christian Science Reading Room—a combination bookstore/library where you can pray, read and study Christian Science publications, or borrow or purchase them—I like to be open to what I can pray about in order to support my community.
