Some 10 years ago the members of an Ohio branch found themselves in a deteriorating community that had a rapidly rising crime rate. The membership, in deciding to reverse the trend, set about proving that rededication to Church was synonymous with renewal for the community.

What is important for the reader to know about punctuation? Written punctuation is for the eye and mind of the reader and is an invaluable aid to the silent reader. But there is another type of punctuation—the phrasing and emphasis of the oral reader.

In one sense, everyone reading this is a materialist, since we all seem to have unconsciously accepted the belief that ideas can be apprehended through the physical senses.

Christ Jesus said to Simon and Andrew, "Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. "  Mark 1:17;  He was substantially inviting them to become public practitioners of the healing law of God.

So much in Christian Science healing depends on our being able to see man in the likeness of God—perfect, spiritual, whole. But sometimes sympathy keeps us so preoccupied with the difficulty that it blocks this view and slows recovery.

Christian Science healing can never be taught or practiced as a formula. Every Christian Science treatment is deeply individual, not a predecided mental argument or stock set of things to "handle" on every occasion.
