With Aquila and Priscilla, and possibly Silas and Timothy, Paul set out for Cenchreae, the port of Corinth, for the journey to Antioch in Syria (see Acts 18:18-22). The significance of Paul's vow mentioned here is uncertain; it may have been a modification of the strict Nazarite vow referred to in Numbers 6:1—21, for religious vows were not then uncommon.
Does life begin with material conception? Are chance and happenstance involved with creation? Are the many forms of life simply the products of complicated physical genetic interactions that have been taking place for countless aeons? Is life material, and is it under the control of a complex array of material laws? In Christian Science we are taught that God, Life, expresses Himself in life that is spiritual and eternal; in other words, without beginning or ending. Man in God's image has always been, is now, and will ever be at one with Him.
How are we supporting the periodical publications of our church? Buying them? Reading them? Writing for them? Distributing them? Excellent! But how do we do these things? Simply doing these things may in fact be achieving little, because we may be identifying ourselves to a considerable extent with limited mortality having necessarily limited objectives, that is, to support a limited concept we call church. It is when these activities become God-centered rather than just humanly directed that they correspondingly become more inspired and more fruitful.
The Bible abounds with references to angels. To those unacquainted with Christian Science such phenomena may appear in this day and age to be nebulous.

The task of speaking or reading in public can present a great challenge. The inexperienced speaker may be hindered by the belief that his voice is inadequate for public speaking.
Dreams! Daydreams! Night dreams! Are they real? Should we believe them? Should we let our lives, our health, our happiness, be governed by the deep darkness of dreams? Few people think of what goes on in a night dream as actually happening. And flimsy daydreams are seen as mainly flights of fancy.
The advertisement is enticing. It promises, in effect, that "he" will be more of a man if "she" becomes more of a woman.
If we are seeking healing, a good question to ask ourselves is, "Am I looking for healing to appear in the body or in consciousness?" Is the aim of Christian Science treatment to heal matter or to heal thought? This Science explains that a discordant or diseased condition is always the manifestation of erroneous or fearful thinking, a false concept of life. Scientific healing cannot, then, result from treating the physical discord.
Members of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, may sometimes feel there is a deep need to inspire commitment to regeneration within their membership. It's a good thing for the member to renew his efforts in support of his church, to gather fresh energies.
