Putting on record insights into the practice of Christian Science.

A TIMELY MESSAGE

At this hour when people the world over are in the throes of human warfare Christian Scientists should be awake to the thought conditions which lie back of these discords and disturbances, and should be dealing daily with such errors for the sake of themselves and the world. In this it is plain that as Christian Scientists we cannot be isolationists, inasmuch as we recognize that we are living in a world of thought and are dealing with mental conditions which are neither local nor personal.

"I SAY UNTO ALL, WATCH"

One of the great purposes of Christ Jesus was to teach his disciples that he who is watching cannot be robbed of what he already possesses and of the blessings which await him. The good man whose home was broken through suffered because he had not expected the thief at that hour.

"WHAT IS LIFE?"

The unsatisfying and impermanent nature of human so-called life and experience has been the theme of poets, sages, and philosophers throughout the centuries. A Spanish poet wrote of mortal existence: "What is life? 'Tis but a madness.

"CHRISTIAN SUCCESS IS UNDER ARMS"

Nothing is plainer, to those who have eyes to see, than that Christianity is on its defense in the world today. It is true that its teachings have been combated by many throughout the ages, but probably never before have they been so ruthlessly spurned as at the present time.

Of the Bible Lesson, Mrs.

When Solomon advised mankind that the principal thing was wisdom, he did not explain how the getting of it was to be accomplished. On the other hand, Mary Baker Eddy in her writings gives us explicit instructions in this connection.

"MIND'S CONTROL OVER THE UNIVERSE"

" Mind's control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science," writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 171 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " That is a sweeping statement of spiritual truth.

EXPERIENCE

From the standpoint of Christian Science, every experience is informative and progressive. It is a test of character and an exercise of intelligence.

"HIS UNDERSTANDING IS INFINITE"

Doubtless many students of the Bible have been inspired and encouraged by the assurance contained in the following verse from the one hundred and forty-seventh Psalm: "Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. " This verse takes on added meaning when read in the light of Christian Science, which reveals that man, being the spiritual likeness of God, reflects perfectly the divine nature.

"THIS IS WOMAN'S HOUR"

Christian Science has done more than any other system of religion for womankind. Christianity, as founded on the teaching of Christ Jesus, opened wide the kingdom of heaven, the reign of spiritual harmony, not to men alone, but to women as well.
